Bridgeland Wins Gold Award in The Nationals

Bridgeland was named Master-Planned Community of the Year during The Nationals 2009 Gold Awards, topping both national and international entrants. Presented by the National Sales and Marketing Council of the National Home Builders Association, The Nationals pay tribute to superior new-home sales and marketing achievements. Gold Award winners were announced Jan. 20 during NAHB’s International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas. The development had already won Silver Awards in nine categories within the competition, including Master-Planned Community of the Year, Marketing Director of the Year, Best Landscape Design for a Detached Community, Best Website, Best Special Promotion (Discovery Weekend), Best Series of Related Print Ads, Best Direct Mail, Best Brochure for a Master-Planned Community, and Best Graphic Continuity. “We are thrilled to win such a prestigious honor competing against some of the best developments in North and South America,” said Peter Houghton, Bridgeland’s vice president, master-planned communities. “We are working hard to build a top-notch community and it is gratifying to see those efforts recognized.” Last year brought many accolades to the young community, including being named Business of the Year by the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce. Plus, Bridgeland also won Community of the Year during the 2008 PRISM Awards hosted by the Greater Houston Builders Association, as well as five other PRISM awards. The community also won seven statewide honors during the Texas Star Awards, presented by the Texas Builders Association. In 2007, Bridgeland won two Star Awards, as well as two PRISM awards, six regional and three silver awards at The Nationals and a gold medal in the Texas Council of Engineering Companies’ Engineering Excellence Awards for land development. The Bridgeland community will one day include more than 21,000 homes for 65,000 residents. More than 3,000 acres are devoted to waterways, lakes, trails, parks and open space. Sixty miles of trails will connect distinctive neighborhoods with amenities and a future Town Center. Bridgeland offers a wide range of housing prices, styles and densities, from conventional neighborhoods priced from the $180,000s to custom homes exceeding $1 million.
