The Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center, the newest YMCA in The Woodlands, opened its doors for the first time on Saturday, June 5th, to thousands of families. Everyone was amazed at the uniqueness of the center as they strolled back into the forest to see the tipis, treehouses, boardwalks, and alpine tower. The afternoon was packed with free activities for kids of all ages including camel rides, face painting, swinging on the giant swing, climbing the alpine tower, juggler, moon walk, cotton candy, pony rides, spin art and much more. The Outdoor Amphitheater was showcased featuring musical performances, magic show, puppet show and outdoor movie at dusk.Located in The Woodlands newest Village of Creekside Park, the YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center, adjacent to the 1700 George Mitchell Preserve is the new home to YMCA Summer Day Camp for ages 5 –ndash; 11. Offered in weekly sessions, Monday – Friday, 7am – 6:30pm, camp runs all summer long until August 20th. Registration and more information is available at www.discoverymcacamping.org.
