Taylor O’Brien and Roberta Keosheyan of the Austin division of Partners in Building visited with an old friend this week. Terry and Cheryl Poulos moved to Austin's Sunset Valley from Chicago, and we had the privilege of designing and building their home. Terry is an avid fan of the environment and green building products. Their home has not only solar panels and rain water collection, but almost an entire acre of native organic landscaping designed by Terry himself. The solar panels collect and create so much energy from the Texas weather, that the city of Austin actually buys the leftover energy from the Poulos’. They make money from the city! Terry, now retired, spends his days outside in the beautiful yard with his dog, Honey. Cheryl is teaching kindergarten is south Austin. And son Sam, who is one smart cookie, has been accepted to MIT for a post-graduate degree next fall. Thank you to the Poulos family, for letting us spend the morning with you in your beautiful back yard!
