Children will have the chance to invent toys, unearth dinosaurs, explore wizardry through science and even immerse themselves in all things French with Project IDEA summer camps, to be held in Bridgeland this year.Project IDEA (Innovate, Discover, Explore and Achieve) camps will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Lakeland Activity Center, 16902 Bridgeland Landing. Parents can choose from four sessions:
Toy Engineering, June 6-10. Young inventors will create futuristic toy mock-ups and models, managing the process from idea to market, including advertising, presentations and development. iDig Dinosaurs, June 20-24. Junior paleontologists will learn how to classify bones, dig for fossils, assemble dinosaur skeletons and much more. Wizardology, July 11-15. Wizards-in-training will learn about potions through the magic of chemical reactions and explore other realms of “wizardology” through the principles of science. Viva La France, Aug. 8-12. Young explorers will embark on an imaginary journey to France on the cruise ship IDEA, exploring the art, architecture, music and language of the country.Participants will be divided into two age groups, 5 through 7 and 8 through 10.
