Cinco Ranch is the 2 US Top Selling Master Planned Community for 2008

In a recent press release, Cinco Ranch was named the #2 master planned community in the United States for 2008.  The ranking was tabulated by RCLCO, who has been releasing the top-selling MPC rankings since 1994, when it first undertook this effort to gain greater insight into the master-planned community industry.  Cinco Ranch ranked #2, up from #6 in 2007, with 775 net sales. This is a 7% increase from it's 725 net sales the previous year.

There has been a recent rumor spreading across the nation that has home buyers pinned by the ears. Due to the recent credit crisis, the real estate market was beaten down and has as yet to fully recover away from high interest rates and excessive down payments to compensate for the fact that buyers groups have their hands tied back. However, an upcoming trend is being fed by major bank chains that will buoy the housing market back to sputtering life.

Real estate bloggers following the Austin, TX housing market have been enthusiastically reporting Austin's number one ranking among large cities in a recent New Geography article outlining the "Best Cities for Job Growth". While Austin enjoyed a job growth of merely 1% in 2008, its accomplishments far surpass those of other regions at risk of or currently suffering losses in job creation. About the study:

Dwellgo Writes How Do Austin Home Prices Compare to Other College Towns

Damon Flowers of Dwellgo Open Real Estate Community recently published an article outlining a study by Coldwell Banker that sized up Austin's home prices in comparison to other college towns. How did Austin measure up? The college town came in 55 out of 119 surveyed markets. "Austin, home of the number 3 BCS-ranked University of Texas football team, has average home prices of $241,325, according to the Coldwell Banker study." The conclusion?
