The New Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center Grand Opening

The Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center, the newest YMCA in The Woodlands, opened its doors for the first time on Saturday, June 5th, to thousands of families. Everyone was amazed at the uniqueness of the center as they strolled back into the forest to see the tipis, treehouses, boardwalks, and alpine tower. The afternoon was packed with free activities for kids of all ages including camel rides, face painting, swinging on the giant swing, climbing the alpine tower, juggler, moon walk, cotton candy, pony rides, spin art and much more.

With stronger reported job and income growth than any other county in the nation, Fort Bend County ranks #1 on the “Best Places to Get Ahead” list just published by Forbes.com.

Fort Bend County was the only county in Texas to be included on the list, which ranked the nation’s top 10 counties by job and income growth using the latest data from the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Census Bureau.

Telfair Central Hall Now Under Construction

Driving through Telfair, residents and visitors might notice a large construction project taking place along New Territory Blvd., next to the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land. This construction site is home to the future Telfair Central Hall, an innovative 9,545 sq. ft. community center building planned to open in the fall.As the artist’s rendering shows, Telfair Central Hall takes some design inspiration from the historic 1939 Central State Farm building next door, which was transformed into the museum’s new home last fall.

"Baskets Full of Fun" is the theme for a free family picnic and home tour in the Tupelo neighborhoods in The Woodlands’ Village of Creekside Park.
