HOUSTON – Eight Houston communities are in the national Top 20 master-planned communities for new home sales in 2013, according to preliminary sales results released by John Burns Real Estate Consulting Co.

A thriving energy industry and advances in fracking oil and gas exploration have generated significant job growth in Houston in recent years. Major energy firms, such as Exxon Mobil are relocating thousands of employees into Houston.

Partners In Building worked with Colorado-based Woodley Architectural Group on the new design that incorporates stone, wood, glass and metal in a style the company calls “Modern Hill Country.”

In Texas, which is a housing market arena unto itself these days, just such a design "tipping point" has occurred. It's all about Modern Hill Country design, which disrupts traditional Texas rococo extravagance with simpler, elegant lines in classically warm materials. And it's catching on fast among Texas production home builders.
